Wedding Gift Guide from a Photographer (and 5-time bridesmaid)

hello,

Weddings can be stressful, even as a guest. Finding a great gift to show your love and support for the happy couple isn’t the easiest task. If you’re struggling to find the perfect gift, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here are our top 5 wedding gift ideas (from a photographer and 5-time bridesmaid).

Personalized Keepsake

A keepsake box is a unique and thoughtful gift that the newlyweds can use to store cherished memories from their big day. Personally, I’ve also purchased a personalized rolling pin, a travel jewelry box, a map (of the place they met), and a doormat. A personalized touch, such as their names, the wedding date, and/or the place they met or got married, will make it even more special.

Kitchen Appliances

Next, if the couple has a registry and enjoys cooking, consider gifting them a kitchen appliance such as a stand mixer or air fryer (or a Vitamix if you want a splurge). These practical gifts will come in handy for years to come.

Honeymoon Experience

Help the couple create unforgettable memories by gifting them a honeymoon experience. You can book a romantic dinner or an adventurous excursion that they can enjoy during their honeymoon. Oftentimes, couples will have a “honeymoon fund” on their registry page as well which makes it easy to donate to. (First-house funds also fall in this category!)

Wine or Champagne Set

Next, celebrate the couple’s union with a special bottle of wine or champagne. You can even include a personalized wine or champagne and glass set that they can use for future celebrations. Cue, saving it for their 6-month, 1-year, or 5-year anniversary!

Artwork

Finally, if you’re close to the couple but struggling for a gift, think about how they decorate their home. Give the couple a unique piece of artwork that will liven up their home. You can choose a painting, sculpture, or even a personalized photo print that will add a personal touch to their space. A few more ideas: have you gone on an amazing trip with the bride and groom before? Or your favorite hang-out? Find a memento around this. I’ve found beautiful coffee table books from places I’ve gone with friends.

We hope these gift ideas have inspired you to find the perfect gift for the special couple on their wedding day. Happy shopping!

I'm Julia, your new photo savvy friend.

Originally from upstate New York, I grew up in a town that not-so-famously has more cows than people. My parents owned a flower shop until I was in high school. At 18-months-old, I was standing on the counter asking customers, "How can I help you?". You can say without a doubt, that design and customer service are entwined in the very fiber of my being.
